Help Students Refine Their Skills and Define Their Artistic Voice
High school students are ready for more than simple art projects. They need meaningful challenges that refine their skills and help them grow as artists. The Great Artist Program (GAP) provides a homeschool art curriculum designed to help high school students strengthen their abilities and develop their own artistic voice through purposeful creative work.
With guided instruction inspired by master artists spanning centuries, students refine advanced techniques, study influential styles, and create original pieces that reflect their unique perspective. Along the way, they gain the confidence and experience to see themselves not just as students of art, but as contributors to its future.

What’s Included in the High School Homeschool Art Curriculum
If your high schooler hasn’t had a chance to try GAP’s middle school art curriculum, it can be a great resource that’s still challenging and age-appropriate. While the material is shared with the middle school art classes, older students consistently find it engaging and demanding, and they develop strong artistic skills along the way.
The curriculum emboldens high schoolers to reach their full potential and discover how their own creative voice can shape the future of artistic expression.
Our homeschool high school art curriculum includes two packages: World Artists and American Artists. Each package includes:
- 75-Page Digital Workbook with additional art activities, lesson materials, and guidance to help parents easily support each lesson at home
- Comprehensive Art Instruction featuring engaging videos, advanced technique practice, step-by-step sketchbook guides, artist and cultural connections, and thoughtful writing prompts
- In-Depth Study of 6 Master Artists worldwide and U.S.-based, including detailed lesson plans, artist fact sheets, and background materials
- Art Supply Lists for Each Artist introducing students to a variety of materials and media commonly used in high school art
- Structured Lesson Plans that guide students through art history, composition, technique demonstrations, and art evaluation
- 1 Final Project in each package that allows students to showcase their creativity and apply the skills they’ve learned
Once high schoolers go through GAP’s lesson plans, they’ll feel inspired, challenged, and confident in their ability to create beautiful art. Before purchasing, try out a FREE lesson to see if our homeschool curriculum is a good match.

Meet the Teacher Behind the Great Artist Program
Laurie White is a mom, wife, artist, teacher, and founder of the Great Artist Program’s homeschool curriculum. Combining her degree in early childhood and elementary education with over 30 years of experience, dedication, and love, Laurie created GAP with the belief that everyone is an artist—they just may need help and resources to discover their creativity.
We created our homeschool art classes in response to the growing need for better access to art education. Laurie spent over 20 years pouring her passion and soul into creating a homeschool art program that would pave the way for young artists, giving them access to an online education system they need to thrive.
The Great Artist Program’s homeschool curriculum isn’t just about teaching students to color or draw—it’s about showing them that they can create their own beautiful artwork with confidence. We believe that every student has everything they need to succeed within themselves, and our online courses are designed to help that creativity come alive.
